World of opportunity for apprentice

18th July 2016

Formula Plastics’ first apprentice has just returned from a visit to China as part of his in-work training programme.

Simon Hocking, who was appointed last year from within the staff team as Formula’s first ever apprentice, made the trip to China with technical manager, Dave Leighton.

Simon commented: “I have recently returned from a visit to China to help oversee T1 tool trials. It is fair to say that it has been one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. It has been fantastic to be involved with this project and to be given such  an opportunity, I never thought I would find myself in a line of work which would allow me to do such things and it’s all thanks to Formula Plastics. I look forward to my future within the company.”

Dave Leighton, technical manager, said: “The trip was part of Simon’s ongoing training and development as part of his apprenticeship. I was impressed with how Simon performed and shows what great progress he is making.”

Formula Plastics is committed to the continuous training and development of staff, and Simon will  now be visiting China at regular intervals to improve and update his skills.
